Fat From the Side.

this is my body. 

i feel a lot of things when i see these photos.

wonder. because each of those stretchmarks maps where my daughter grew inside my belly and in my heart. 

affection. for those folds and rolls and the soft, full handfulls of fat that cushion every inch of me.

relief. because i’m not ashamed or afraid or unhappy with any part of it any more.

and disappointment. that i ever hated any of it.

24 years old, 185 pounds, size 14. so much more than those numbers.
